Postponed: Equity-Centered Community Design Workshop

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions on public gatherings, we have to postpone the Equity-Centered Community Design Workshop originally scheduled for April. We hope to be able to bring Antionette Carroll and her team from Creative Reaction Lab to KC sometime later this year, after public health restrictions have ease up a bit.

Stay safe, everyone!

The workshop will provide an introduction to the Equity-Centered Community Design framework within current-state industries, including but not limited to health + healthcare, education, media, and government + public service. Participants will explore how they might apply Equity-Centered Community Design to design with inclusive and equitable outcomes in mind.

Antionette Carroll is the Founder, President and CEO of Creative Reaction Lab, a nonprofit educating, training, and challenging Black and Latinx youth to become leaders designing healthy and racially equitable communities. Within this capacity, Antionette has pioneered a new, award-winning form of creative problem solving called Equity-Centered Community Design - named a Fast Company World Changing Idea Finalist in General Excellence and Urban Design.  She has received several recognitions including being named a GDUSA Person to Watch, Echoing Green Global Fellow, TED Fellow, Essence Magazine’s Woke 100, Next City Vanguard, Camelback Ventures Fellow, and St. Louis Visionary Awards Community Impact Honoree.
